ANDRITZ to Rebuild Paper Machine for SFT Group, Russia

International technology Group ANDRITZ has received an order by SFT Group, a rapidly growing packaging producer in Russia, to rebuild and modernize a mothballed kraft paper machine after dismantling it at UPM’s Kymi mill in Finland and relocating it to SFT’s Kamenskaya mill in the Tver region, Russia.

The modernized board machine for the production of fluting and testliner will have a capacity of 215,000 t/a (design speed 1,050 m/min, trim width 4,600 mm). Start-up is scheduled for October 2012.

Praxair to Supply New Uruguayan Pulp Mill

Praxair Uruguay, a subsidiary of Praxair, Inc. (NYSE: PX), has signed a 15-year contract to supply oxygen to a new pulp mill complex being built in Punta Pereira, in the department of Colonia, Uruguay. Toscotec to Supply Complete Tissue Plant to Romania’s Petrocart

Italian leading paper machinery manufacturer Toscotec will supply a complete tissue production line to the Rumanian Company Petrocart. The tissue line will be installed at Piatra Neamt capital of the Neamt district in the Moldavia historical region. The line will be started up at the beginning of 2013. The project enjoyed a contribution granted by EEC and was assigned to Toscotec after an official tender procedure.

Forest Industry Applauds Government for Promoting Canadian Wood in Asia

The Forest Products Association of Canada (FPAC) is pleased that the Minister of Natural Resources, Joe Oliver, has promoted Canadian wood frame construction as environmentally friendly and energy efficient during his trip to China.
