25 February 2011: The Forest Carbon Partnership Facility (FCPF) has published the first issue of an e-newsletter on FCPF activities in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC).
The newsletter highlights: a new publication on "Harvesting Knowledge on REDD+: Early Lessons from the FCPF Initiative and Beyond;" a ten-day South-South Exchange on community forestry and REDD+ (reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation in developing countries, including conservation, sustainable management of forests, and enhancement of carbon stocks); FCPF activities at the 16th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UNFCCC (COP 16); and the FCPF Third Participants Assembly and Seventh Participants Meeting. The newsletter also describes: the FCPF Latin American Portfolio; a joint meeting of the governing bodies of the FCPF, the Forest Investment Program, and the UN-REDD Programme; and an October 2010 regional workshop in Argentina. The next issue of the newsletter will be released in April 2011. [Publication: e-Newsletter issue 1 [8]]
