JSC Volga to start the rebuilding of PM No 6

Presently the plant is conducting the works prior the installation of major equipment - a new head box that will allow for control and adjustment of the cross profile (cross-section) of 1 sq.m. paper web. The equipment will be delivered by PMT, an Italian company; JSC Volga has already entered into agreement with this company with the contract price of 5 bln euro.

The total amount of investments assigned to the rebuilding of paper machine No 6 will be 8 mln euro.

During the project of upgrading the following equipment will also be installed: a hydraulic reel spool with a system of spool supply and a rail for wound reel spools storage prior to their supply at the cutting machine, air driven paper web feeder from a drier cylinder to a paper machine calendar and from the calendar to the reel section as well as the replacement of a quality management systems and installation of a scanning beam in front of the paper machine reel section. The scanner controls the cross and longitudinal profile of 1 sq.m. paper web, moisture and paper thickness.

The objective of rebuilding is the improvement of quality of products.

PM No 6 is the oldest at PPM.
