Graz, Austria, Mar 18, 2011 - International technology Group ANDRITZ has been awarded an order by Hämeenkyrön Voima Oy to supply an 80MWth fluidized bed steam boiler using as main fuel wood-based biomass and milled peat as additional fuel for its power plant in Hämeenkyrö, Finland. The project investors are Pohjolan Voima, M-real and Leppäkosken Sähkö. Start-up of the boiler is scheduled for the autumn of 2012.

There has been a lot of analysis in the last few days concerning the impact the massive earthquake, and tsunami in Japan will have on North American timber markets.

The timber harvesting volumes will increase by 30 %, as estimated by Rajap Nabiullin, the Minister for Forestry Complex of the Republic of Bashkortostan. This index was accepted by the Forest Plan and the  Program of Development of the regional Timber Industry Complex.

services to Finnish forest owners. UPM's forests and most of the privately owned forests in Finland are already certified under PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification Schemes).

Stora Enso has now been selected for the list for the fourth time running, out of a record number of nominee companies and International Paper was recognized by The Ethisphere Institute as one of the World's Most Ethical Companies For the fifth consecutive year.
