KINGSEY FALLS, QC, Nov. 11, 2011 /CNW Telbec/ - Cascades is launching the Massimo Christmas tree, made of 100% recycled cardboard. The tree is 6 feet tall which makes it very similar to the traditional tree. It is easy to assemble, can be stored flat and reused for many years. The main advantage: it is maintenance-free! The Christmas tree can even be recycled at the end of its life, unlike artificial trees. This new model rounds out the range of three Cascades trees which were very popular among our customers in November 2010.

"We wish to pursue our mission of raising awareness among consumers, to convince them to adopt lifestyle and purchasing habits that are responsible, even during the holiday season, a period that is conducive to over-consumption", stated Carl Blanchet, Corporate Director, Business Development.

A Modern Tree With a Traditional Style
Two large tree models are available. The first one is printed with a design of tree branches, comparable to the natural tree. The second one, the Christmas tree of yesteryear, is made with white cardboard and is printed in a variety of green designs inspired by the tradition of the holiday season.

Lit Up and Fragrant
A set of LED lights is included with each tree for a festive atmosphere. Moreover, a bottle of fir tree mist, composed of 90% organic ingredients, rounds out the range of accessories that are provided. This will enable the fragrance of a freshly cut tree that is so much desired by natural tree enthusiasts, whenever they choose and according to the desired intensity. Finally, the cardboard lights and stars inserted in the box are decorations.

Wrapping Paper
Cascades is also launching a new 100% recycled fibre wrapping paper. It is one of the only industrial wrapping papers made in Canada! The paper is printed using water-based flexographic inks and is recyclable. In order to make this product greener, the paper is rolled without using a cardboard core

On the Web
The Massimo recycled cardboard tree is now available at Boutique Cascades. The wrapping paper will be available on November 14. For additional information, visit boutique.cascades.com.
