Finnish newspapers report that the machinery contractors association is angered over the sudden shutdown by forestry company UPM. The Confederation has called UPM subcontractors to immediately stop the logging, which would be considered as unreasonable. UPM's purchasing director Pekka Rajala confirms that UPM has decided to restrict the operation from two to four weeks. The cause of the outage is reported to be frost and that the demand of timber has decreased.
