ECO2 Forests planting in Europe

BOULDER - Sustainable forestry company ECO2 Forests Inc. has plans for two joint-venture projects in Europe - one in Turkey, the other in Bulgaria.

GE plants $500 million investment in Brazil

American conglomerate, General Electric (GE), has chosen Brazil as the location for its fifth key research and development centre, in a deal that will see the company invest $500 million in the nation.

The decision was made to locate the centre in Brazil as the company emphasizes its push on expanding its global operations - particularly in South America. UGANDA: One million trees for Mt Elgon region

MBALE, 3 November 2010 (IRIN) - A three-year project to increase forest cover and help local communities in eastern Uganda adapt to climate change has been launched.

"The planting of one million trees has started to sustain an area of tropical forest in Africa the size of Wales," said John Griffiths, counsel-general of the Welsh Assembly, which is supporting the project. "These trees will not only absorb carbon but provide shade for crops."
