Arkhangelsk International Forestry Forum will take place in April, 6-8

Arkhangelsk will host the International Forestry Forum dedicated to the International Year of Forests in 2011 declared by the Resolution of the United Nations General Assembly. The event is jointly prepared by the Government of Arkhangelsk Region and the Federal Forestry Agency (Rosleshoz). The program oversees the conferences and the seminars on sustainable forest exploitation, illegal wood turnover, the federal management of forest resources, bioenergy development.

The general sponsor of all the events will be the Ministry for Natural Resources and the Forestry Complex of Arkhangelsk Region. Among the partners and co-sponsors of the event there are the Northern Arctic Federal University (NArFU), WWF of the Russian Federation, the World Bank, Arkhangelsk Regional Centre for Energy Efficiency, The Agency for Forestry and Hunting Sector of Arkhangelsk Region, the Ministry for Economic Development of Arkhangelsk Region and the Agency for Print and Mass Media of Arkhangelsk Region.

The 11^th specialized exhibition «Wood and Woodworking» will take place during the Arkhangelsk International Forestry Forum. The exhibition is aimed at presentation of the cutting edge technologies in the timber industry complex at the market of the major forestry region of Russia, the Arkhangelsk Region. In 2011 the exhibition «Wood and Woodworking» will coincide for the first time with the exhibition «Arkhangelsk - EXPO» thus allowing the Russian and foreign companies to demonstrate their potential at a fuller range.

The Ministry for Natural Resources and the Forestry Complex of Arkhangelsk Region invites all the parties concerned to take part in the events of the Arkhangelsk International Forestry Forum.
